Workforce Development

A coalition of the Chamber, Grand Forks Economic Development Corporation, Job Service and Area Human Resource Professionals, School District.

Purpose: 

To develop strategies to increase workforce availability for area employers.

Goals:

Support Career Impact Academy Funding and Implementation.

• Tell the Grand Forks story through the “Grand Forks is Cooler” web site. Drive new resident and potential employee traffic to the

    “Grand Forks is Cooler” web site.

• Career Expo - Provide opportunities to directly expose regional high school students to career opportunities in the Upper Red River Valley

• Promote and Distribute a “New Residents Guide.”

• The Chamber, EDC and UND Career Services will continue to partner on new internships for UND students at area businesses.

• Pursue ND Commerce and Workforce Development Council funds.

• Educate Businesses on Immigration and VISA workforce opportunities.
